Serchlite Music started out as a production company in 1991 when we signed Nas to Columbia Records and began working as Executive Producers on his classic album, ILLMATIC.  Serchlite was closely involved in all aspects of that album from its producer agreements to its promotion direction to its marketing and setup.  The final result of that album was far more reaching then any of us anticipated.  From the 5 mics in The Source to its first week sales and his name branding at both retail and commercial was a huge success for Columbia and Serchlite.  We then went on to establish a brand with the Serchlite Logo at Wild Pitch with the critically acclaimed O.C. album, “WORD LIFE”.  Although his sales did not reach that of the NAS album, our micro managing of that project, (We were the first company to do wheat paste stickers on the backs of Walk signals in NY, LA, D.C, and Phil.), helped to establish his name and connect him with an audience that is still loyal to his records to this day.

At the same time a small company out of Princeton NJ who were looking to establish a brand in the clothing world approached us. We used the same savvy that we had in the music world to help connect the brand with a consumer and taught them brand loyalty through concert and street promotion.  We connected their brand through their clothing conferences and helped to establish its designer as a force in the fashion world, not just the Urban fashion world.

That brand was Ecko Clothing. and when we left in 1997, what was once a $163,000 a year business was developing into a 500 million dollar business with 20 different licenses from shoes to jewelry.  We believe that, besides having the ability to build relationships with the consumer, we never strayed from the owner's original line of thought.  To be different without being too far left of center so that people would gravitate toward you.

After Ecko Clothing and a short stint as National Promotion Director at Def Jam Records, Serch then focused on bringing new promotional strategies to radio and formed Serchlite Promotions in 1998.  Now, six years later, we are proud to say that a large majority of records on both the Billboard Mainstream R&B Charts and the CHR Rhythmic Charts that ends up on the years most played record list, we have promoted from the ground up. In addition, we have partnered up with some of the most exciting names in sports to launch a sports entertainment marketing division that has included exciting new projects like a quarterly Double CD Compilation for ESPN The Magazine, called The Mix, that is used at all their special events. We also have been retained to do music consulting and booking work with a national television network, programming for their upcoming fall line up including a nationally televised morning show as well as two Lifestyle Series. Serchlite has also produced various entertainment and special events including The 1 st Annual Player Magazine’s NFL Pre-Draft Celebrity Bash as well as 2 hugely successful NBA Draft Parties. and The NFL Rookie Premiere Event. Our 3 month long promotion Monday Night Football Madness in NY has become the hottest party to be at every Monday Night..

All in all, we are a small and focused group of workaholics that strive to bring fresh looks to the music, artists, athletes and corporations that we are represent. We are proud to say we represent the Urban culture, we think outside the box and strive to provide different looks for all of our clients.
